This dude is so confusing. I thought his previous project Serpent Column was done, and so he started Theophonos. Fine. But then Serpent Column came back, late last year. All cool, but the end of Theophonos? Nope, also still going strong, apparently. Anyway. Both great, so it’s just more good music and I’m not complaining. Also hat tip to his Steal This Album-ish message on bandcamp: “For best results, steal it (and my discography) and blast it through your own media player.”

Post-hardcore/emo, USA (Fantasy Records)

This is a new situation for me. This is a supergroup, with members of bands I don’t like. None of them. Not Circa Survive, not My Chemical Romance, not Coheed and Cambria, not Thursday and not any of the other days of the week / shitty bands these people comb their hair sideways for. But I do like this one! The magic of supergroups.
