🌶️ To The Teeth: Slaegt, Cave In, Blut Aus Nord, Nechochwen, Dark Funeral, Agathodaimon & more!
New albums
There are new albums, splits, ep's and demo's out from: Slaegt (black/heavy from Denmark), Dark Funeral (dark fun from Sweden), Zwaard (black from The Netherlands), Aeviterne (experimental death from the USA), Haunted Shores (instrumental prog from the USA - members of Periphery, missed it last week), Agathodaimon (🌶️ gothic/black from Germany), Glemsel (black from Denmark), Oddland (prog from Finland), Cryptivore (death/grind from Australia), Eric Wagner (doom from the USA - posthumous release from the Trouble/The Skull frontman), Silent Thunder (ambient black from the USA - project from the Lamp of Murmuur dude) and a live album from Týr (prog/folk from the Faroe Islands).
New singles
There are new songs out from: Cave In (🌶️ post-hardcore/alternative from the USA), Blut Aus Nord (avant-black/industrial from France), Nechochwen (🌶️ black/neofolk from the USA), Blind Guardian (power from Germany), Funeral Storm (black from Greece), Decapitated (death/groove from Poland), Undeath (🌶️ death from the USA), ††† (dream rock from the USA - Deftones' Chino Moreno's side thing), Månegarm (viking/black/folk from Sweden), Vanum (🌶️ black from the USA), Blackbraid (black from the USA), Aara (black from Switzerland), Mosaic (black from Germany) and Black Void (post-black from Norway - this is the same band as White Void, if I understand correctly - it's Solefald's Lazare, anyway).
Right after sending the newsletter last week the formidable I, Voidhanger label announced five new albums. That's great because it's an amazing label and the music is always interesting, but also because it seems label owner Luciano Gaglio, who had a severe stint with covid-19 last year, is back on his feet. Inhumankind (avantgarde/free jazz from Spain), -S- ('dark occult funk' from Poland), Feral Light (black'n'roll from the USA), ZOS (drone/doom from Poland), Thos Ælla (death/black from the USA - member of Father Befouled).
Next week
Non-metal album of the week (of the year?): Rosalía - Motomami (latin/pop from Spain - read my review in Dutch)
I’m looking forward to next week because of: Abbath, Falls of Rauros, Animals as Leaders, Desolate Shrine, Eucharist, Father Befouled, Soul Glo and Nite.
Have a great weekend people, stay safe - Peter
