🌶️ To The Teeth: Meshuggah, Satan, Ultha, Municipal Waste, Watain, Gnod, Tombs and more
New albums
🌶️ Meshuggah (tech/djent from Sweden. FFO: Gojira, Strapping Young Lad, Tesseract - all played at the same time)
I've seen Meshuggah live just once, but I'll never forgot what a... complicated experience that was. I wanted to move, obviously. I mean it's such driving, moving music. But none of my limbs could do anything that made sense. Anyway. This is another record that sometimes feels like hard work to listen to, but it does pay off.
🌶️ Satan (NWOBHM from the UK. FFO: Iron Maiden, Angel Witch, your dad's best records)
You gotta love a band that could claim this name right? They've been around since before I was born, but I picked them up with the comeback album in 2013, and they're at their third album since them - number six in total. Nothing indicates Satan is holding back. Are they getting better? This is great.
There's more: Ultha (🌶️ black from Germany - big surprise!), Bhleg (black from Sweden), Golgothan Remains (death from Australia), Lifvsleda (black from Sweden), Black Death Cult (black/death/doom from Canada), Vimur (heavy/black from the USA - this releases tomorrow) a split from Lamp of Murmuur & Ebony Pendant (🌶️ both black from the USA), Spider God (melodic black from the UK), Wolf (heavy from Sweden), Lords of the Trident (epic heavy from the USA), Cora's Heart (atmoblack from Mexico - missed this earlier this year, but it's good) Gnod (psych/noise from the UK), Centinex (death from Sweden), Coffin Nail (punk/death/grind from the USA), Evil Invaders (thrash/speed from Belgium), Gggggooolllllddd (post/rock from The Netherlands), Grand Celestial Nightmare (🌶️ symphonic black from The Netherlands - it's Mories 'Gnaw Their Tongues' de Jong again), a split from Bog Wizard & Froglord (doom/stoner/sludge from the USA and the UK), and live albums from Vola (🌶️ prog from Denmark), The Nest (psych/black from Belgium - members of Wolvennest plus guests) and In Mourning (progressive melodeath/gothic from Sweden).
Plus: 16 bands covered Lustmord, from Ihsahn to Zola Jesus, from Enslaved to Godflesh, and from Ulver to The Ocean.
