🌶️ To The Teeth: Filthy death metal, beautiful dark folk, vikings, Kirk, troops, entities, primitive men & møre!
New albums
🌶️ Anatomia & Undergang (death/doom from Japan & death from Denmark. FFO: Autopsy, Coffins & Bolt Thrower, Tomb Mold)
Spring is here. And when the temperature goes up, my appetite for death metal rises too. Anatomia and Undergang team up for a second time here and again it's great. Anatomia covers the death/doom side of things and slow down to a crawl when needed, while Undergang just stomps on without regards to anything in their way. The last song on this thing has a particularly filthy riff.
🌶️ Darkher (folk/doom from the UK. FFO: Myrkur, Chelsea Wolfe, Osi & the Jupiter)
The music Jayn Maiven makes as Darkher is specifically not made for spring. Her doomy, gothic, folk is as dark as it is beautiful. Ambiance, build-up of tension and atmosphere are key, but be ready to be swept away by some hauntingly pretty melodies too. Absolutely enchanting album. "With your burning hands around me / I can't breathe / Where the devil waits to capture / All of me"
There's more: Egregore (black/death from Canada), Månegarm (viking black from Sweden), The Suns Journey Through the Night (black/ambient from the UK), Incandescence (black from Canada), Nightfell (black/death from the USA - missed this a few weeks back), Felvum (black from Ukraine 🌻), Epitaphe (death/doom from France), Viande (black/death from France), Crisix (thrash from Spain), Faceless Entity (raw black from The Netherlands) and The Troops of Doom (death/thrash from Brazil - ex-Sepultura).

I’m looking forward to next week because of: Corpsessed, Feral Light, Zos, Freja, Kirk Hammett, Undeath, Primus and Somali Yacht Club.
Have a great weekend people, stay safe - Peter
