🌶️ To The Teeth: Fear Factory, Bossk, Alien Weaponry, Jinjer & much more
Three new albums you need to hear
🌶️ Fear Factory - Aggression Continuum (industrial from the USA)
When Burton C. Bell departed Fear Factory, I didn't know they already recorded the album with him. I'm glad they did, because his vocals and vocal lines are so recognizable and important for this band. This is a cool record, creative and energetic, even within the rather limited width of this sound. Not brilliant, but a huge step up from their last.
🌶️ Bossk (atmospheric post/sludge from the UK)
Nothing you haven't heard before, but it's well composed and executed thick, swampy sludge. Heavy as a planet. Named after a Star Wars character. 🪐
🌶️ Givre - Le Pressoir Mystique (black from Canada)
This came out last week but it's worth mentioning. Givre is the predecessor of really good band Entheos (not the deathcore band from California - do listen to this) and was put to rest, but the pilot light stayed on. The original members resurrected it and released a compelling album.
There's more: Helloween (power/speed from Germany), Trialogos (psych from Germany), Heavy Temple (psych/doom from the USA ), Raat (post-black from India), Gallows (black from the USA), Wanderer (metal/hardcore from the USA), Eye of Purgatory (death from Sweden), Alustrium (prog/tech death from the USA) and Crobot (stoner/hardrock from the USA).
New singles
New songs, tracks, singles and advance tracks: Carcass (grind/death from the UK), At The Gates (🌶️ melodeath from Sweden), Alien Weaponry (🌶️ thrash/groove from New Zealand), The Body & Big|Brave (sludge/doom from the USA & post/doom from Canada), Vouna (atmospheric black/doom from the USA), Unreqvited (post-black/blackgaze from Canada), Ex Deo (symphonic death from Canda), White Stones (🌶️ prog death from Spain - Opeth's Martin Mendez' side project), Duma (experimental/grind from Kenya), Jinjer (prog from Ukraine), Voices (prog black/death from the UK), Witch Vomit (death from the USA), Taphos (death from Denmark - two tracks), Lost in Grey (symphonic from Finland), Wizardthrone (🌶️ symphonic black from the UK), Unto Others (heavy/gothic from the USA - formerly know as Idle Hands), Empress (doom/post from Canada), Beyond Grace (death from the UK) and live tracks from Paradise Lost (doom/gothic from the UK) and Lacuna Coil (gothic/alternative from Italy - one of their best songs to date!).
Next week
Non-metal album of the week: I haven't heard anything I found particularly good this week, sorry!
I’m looking forward to next week because of: Darkthrone, Amenra, Cerebral Rot, White Ward & Irae.
Have a great weekend! - Peter
