🌶️ Fossilization (death/doom from Brazil. FFO: Spectral Voice, Krypts, Incantation)

This is my kind of death metal. Intense, menacing, dark, unpredictable, atmospheric and heavy as a planet. The two members are also in Jupiterian.

🌶️ Cryptopsy (brutal/tech death from Canada. FFO: Suffocation, Aborted, Dying Fetus)

The first album in over ten years from Cryptopsy. Chock full of technical, brutal, intense death metal. Cryptopsy pushes all edges and envelopes.

🌶️ Kvelertak (hardrock/heavy from Norway. FFO: Baroness, Red Fang, Mutoid Man)

I still kinda miss Hjelvik, but this band knows how to write a great big rock song and this is worth your time if you like, well, great big rock songs.

🌶️ Uada (melodic black/facepalms from the USA. FFO: Mgła, Auðn, Blackbraid)

I’ll be honest, I was never a fan of this band and I’m still not. But I’m warming up to this release, which seems more varied and urgent to me than what I’ve heard before.
